LR Engineering has been working with architects, building contractors and construction companies for over thirty years, providing bespoke metal work that meets the needs of them and their clients. From structural steelwork, to bespoke bracketry, to garden sculptures – we are used to a portfolio of bespoke metalwork fabrication. We have full site survey and design services, but can work from your drawings and specifications – you choose. We have teamed up with architects and artists for more ornate applications. We can work in large construction environments but as easily work in discreet clean private locations.

We have a team of vehicles and skilled engineers that can enable us to be involved in a project as you need. Our purpose built facilities are based in the Cotswolds, close to Swindon, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Oxford and Bristol. We are convenient to the M4 a M5 corridors.

We operate with Factory Production Control (FPC), UKCA (CE) marking our work, operating to BS EN ISO 3834-3, ISO 15641-1, ISO 9606-1 and ISO 3834.

Working with bolted or welded steelwork structures we can build the bespoke solution to your needs. We can be involved with site surveys, design work, a full structural engineering service, manufacture, site installation, factory testing and a dismantling service where required – but decide on where you would like us to partner you. We can upgrade or modify existing structures on site.

We can provide universal beams (UB), universal columns (UC), joists, channels, hollow sections, flat sections, rolled steel angle (RSA), circular hollow sections (CHS), compound sections, open web beams and lattice beams. Please do not hesitate in discussing your specific project with the LRE team.

Please note that it is suggested that with modification over 40% of old structural steelwork could be re-used to ensure standards are met and quality is at the level needed. If you are considering this direction we can help with additional bracketry, modifications or additions. Our business world is of course in metalwork, but our environmental world should encourage a circular economy where existing metalwork can be reused where possible.

All our welding is completed to BS EN ISO 3834-3.

We have been building staircases and balustrades for over three decades, for housing, for commercial offices, and for manufacturing and industrial environments. We have created ornate and stylised staircases and balustrades for luxury homes around the Cotswolds, but equally we have created as many fire access and emergency stair cases for commercial buildings.

We are very much used to working with architects and designers for unique designs, and both within peoples homes and commercial environments where discretion and cleanliness are part of the job. Mezzanines are a fantastic way to create more space in a home or a commercial building. Our mezzanine experience actually extends to the manufacturing space where three ton robots are in operation – hopefully this highlights the quality levels we can work to. Of course the look and feel are important in luxury homes and offices, and we understand the detail and finesse that is required to meet those needs.

An area we have become more and more involved with, likely due to our location in the Cotswold Water Park where many luxury homes have been built in the past few decades. Office “feature” sculptures to working directly with artists for ornate hand crafted metal sculptures. Bespoke arbours, pergolas, gazebos, screens, planters, outdoor kitchens, structures for outdoor rooms, fencing, bracketry, security solutions and more – we can enable your clients ideas to become reality with your partnership.

We can create fencing projects that include bow top fencing, blunt top fencing, estate fencing, mesh fencing, palisade fencing (D or W sections) and any bespoke design you require – for security purposes or ornate design we can help with your project needs. We have created fencing for houses, country estates and commercial buildings. We can offer a site survey, design, manufacture and installation – we can fit into your project where you require.

We can also provide gates to all shapes and sizes, meeting the design and style of your project – gates for people or vehicle use. Items can be provided powder-coated or galvanised.

Many of these items are available off the shelf for many building and construction projects, but we can help when a bespoke solution is needed. This could be due to engineering requirements or a unique visual design. We work in aluminium, steel and stainless steel depending on the needs of the project.
